So the Vantage Point and Ht rules within Malifaux are a bit confusing, but our friend Kevin breaks it down in 7 “easy” to understand images.

As an additional note on this picture, the ledge that Window Weaver is standing on doesn’t count for line drawing purposes so long as she is within her Ht of the edge. So as long as she is within 2″ of that edge, the Vantage Point terrain is ignored.

The other confusing note that isn’t show here, is that if McCabe was 3.1″ away from the ledge here and the Vantage Point Terrain he is standing on is 3″ or taller, then he wouldn’t have line of sight to the Steam Arachnid because the Vantage Point Terrain would not be ignored for drawling lines. On the other hand, if the Vantage Point Terrain is 2.99″ or less then he once again has line of sight the the Steam Arachnid because he ignores terrain smaller then him.

Easy right? Yea, I’ll admit some of the rules are a bit odd, but at least now you know how they work correctly in the game. Also, if you see our friend Kevin Kucharski around the internet make sure to tell him thanks for the guide. You can also check out his podcast here, though I will warn you its not for the easily offended.
